GET MOVING!

Exodus 13:15 “Why are you crying out to me? . . .get moving!”

After the Lord led the Israelites out of Egypt, He told them to camp beside the Red Sea.  But they were dismayed when the Egyptian army could be seen in the distance chasing after them.  The people panicked and blamed Moses for this predicament.  While Moses was trying his best to pacify this unruly mob, God told him it was time to quit talking and get moving!  God parted the Red Sea and turned the seabed into dry ground for the Israelites to safely walk across.  When they reached the other side, God let the waters rush back over the Egyptians who were close behind in pursuit.

I struggled with a decision about spending the money to attend a Christian writer’s conference.  While Satan whispered in my ear that I wasn’t proficient enough in my writing to attend and that it was too expensive, God provided the money and encouragement.  I prayed about it and He answered through the story of the Red Sea.

God had a plan for the Israelites that day that they were not aware of.  Today God also has a plan for us, and it is important to pray about it, but then it is time to step out in faith and “get moving.”
